Little eyes are always watching!

Cason did something this weekend that really made us realize how closely he watches our every move. In our entry way there are hooks that we always hang our keys on when coming and going. This is just one of the little habits in your everyday life you never think twice about. Well, I noticed Cason had been digging in his toy bins for a long time on Saturday and was looking for something very specific. Finally, he found his toy keys and took them to the hooks. He of course couldn't reach them so he kindly asked if I would pick him up so he could reach. He then hung "Cason's key's" on a hook right next to Aaron and I's.
It was so cute and just proves how much little eyes are watching.

Pumpkin Carving

This weekend Cason wasn't feeling to well so we thought for sure carving pumpkins would cheer him up. To our disappointment he wasn't really interested in it at all, but he liked looking at them once daddy was done carving their faces.

Parker was so funny, of course all he wanted to do was eat the pumpkin :)

Weekend Homebodies

Well, we had a very uneventful but fun weekend around the house. It was cold this weekend and of course Cason wanted to be outside all day so I had to dig out the winter gear.
I think Parker set a record for longest length of time sucking on a binkie, he had that thing in his mouth all day on Sunday.
Cason was so excited to get to help grandpa work, he gets very serious when it comes to screwing nuts and bolts. He even had one of daddy's tools to work with.
I love fall weather but I am going to have such a hard time keeping the boys entertained inside.

DMB Concert

Friday night Aaron and I got to go out on our 1st "date night" in quite some time. We went to the Dave Matthews concert. We granny dumped both kids, Cason stayed the night with Papa and GiGi and Parker stayed with MawMaw and Grandpa. The concert was great and we had a good time. Casey and Katherine came in town for the concert so we got to see them. We went to McNellie's before the show and unfortunately when we arrived I started feeling sick, my throat was killing me, but I made it all night :) I think Aaron was more excited to see Willie Nelson than Dave. They performed one song together that Aaron really enjoyed.

"Baby Rocks"

I know I have said this about every stage of Cason's life but I really think his age right now might be my favorite (just before he is turning 2). He absorbs so much information and learns new things every second and then he will comment on them, which is so funny! He has been cracking us up lately, and recently did something I had to share.
So let's just say he "filled" his diaper rather full (without being too gross and detailed) it was so bad I just decided to throw him in the tub real quick and wash him off instead of use 50 wipes. Well, we were in my room so I put him in the master bath tub, which he was real excited to get to play in "mommy's bath." I just grabbed the nearest bottle of soap and started to wash him when he told me no and acted like he was about to cry. I couldn't figure out what was wrong so I just kept scrubbing and he started screaming "baby rocks, baby rocks!" I was very puzzled and had no idea what he was talking about so I just rinsed him real quick and got him out and when I looked down I noticed the bottle of soap I grabbed to wash him with wasn't really soap but it was body scrub. I immediatley started laughing when I realized he was telling me I was washing him with baby rocks and it was hurting him... I felt so terrible for laughing but I couldn't resist.

Parker is 4 months old

I can't believe you are 4 months old little Pookey. You are such a sweetheart. The Dr. confirmed you are such a big boy, already wearing 6-9 month clothes. You are in the 100% in both height and weight; measuring 28 1/2 inches long and weighing 19 lbs. You are starting off just like your daddy :)
Here are your latest accomplishments for September:
  • First time in your exersaucer, you seem to really enjoy it for about 10 minutes but would much rather sit and study your brother.
  • You rub your eyes now when you are tired, it's so cute!
  • You are finally attached your little blue blankie, you cuddle and chew on the silk trim.
  • Your feet are only about an inch shorter than Cason's ~ does this mean you will soon outgrow him?
  • You can go from happy to upset in 0.2 seconds!! Very impressive.

Race for the Cure 2009

Cason participated (rode in the stroller and slept) in his very first 5k on Saturday. It was a great time and the weather was perfect. There were 12,000 people there so needless to say it was a little hectic. I would say we ran about 50% and walked 50%, I have got to give myself some credit since I haven't exercised once in over a year (not proud of this by the way). The race was for an important cause (that is close to my heart) and it was also good motivation for me to get my butt in gear and start working out again. Aaron is so competitive and would have rather ran in the timed race without pushing a running stroller, haha, but I had to remind him we were just out there for fun as a family. Parker stayed with GiGi of course, maybe next year he can come too!
