Margo 'rita' party!

My friends are slowly starting to celebrate their 30th birthdays and might I add, I am the baby of the group, just turned 29 last month.  We had the best time celebrating her 30th fiesta style!! After going through my pictures I was terribly disappointed I didn't get a picture of Margo's 8 week old angel, Avery.
She was in high demand with everyone and I just didn't get the chance to snap a pic of her.

This little girl won me over, she is just like her mommy (personality wise) and looks like her daddy.  Reese is my best friend Kelly's daughter.  She is absolutely adorable and already has the word "diva" down pat...gosh I miss her already!

Happy 30th Margo, I love you and miss you tons!

Doug

I just wanted to introduce you to Cason's first responsibility...his name is doug (Cason picked out the name).
Of course after watching Nemo numerous times he decided he wanted a fish.
Between you and me, I can't believe Doug is still chugging along (we have had him for months now).

Family Fun Night

First off, LOVE this song, amazing lyrics!
Aaron and I do realize that one day these boys will not want to stay home and have family night with us but for right now we are soaking it up because they don't have a choice, hehe!
We have family fun night every week and will continue to do so for as long as possible.  Our hopes are that by starting it when they are this little will help and as they get older & would prefer to be out riding their bikes or whatever it is adolescent boys do these days (don't want to know), that Cason and Parker would know that it is set in stone at least one night a week they will be spending with their mom and dad.
Actually, it will be required of them and it's okay if they view this time as one of their "chores."  I know in the long run our family will be stronger for it and some day (far in the future) they will understand and be grateful for this time together.
With all that said, this week we decided to spend time coloring, drawing, and fun artsy stuff.  Now, this is not either one of my boys strong suites, they would MUCH rather be outside digging in the dirt, chasing bugs, getting wet, or anything that involves exhausting physical activity so it didn't last long.

Of course Parker tried to eat the markers numerous times

Go POKES!

If you know me at all then you would expect to see this post.  Around our house, we are big time cowboy fans and we are proudly raising two little cowboys.  Oklahoma State football is kind of a big deal with the man of the house :)
Last Saturday was the first game of the season and we had a great time with wonderful friends watching some football.  On a side note, I like the sport and all but can't really sit through a whole game.  What I like tons more than the actual game is the tailgating with friends and great food.
I guess you could say I see football season as more of an excuse for tons of social gatherings!

Boys will be Boys!

My boys love yogurt so no matter how messy it gets I give it to them.  However, Parker has taken "messy" to a whole new level.  Cason has a bad habit of trying to bring his toys to the table and he has been getting in trouble for this so when they sat down to eat their yogurt he decided if he sat his jeep next to Parker then Parker would get in trouble and not him.
The following demonstration will show you what my little man did with his brother's jeep.

Step 1:  Carefully place toy jeep in the yogurt cup.

Step 2:  Realize, hmmm how will I eat my yogurt now, I need to get the jeep out.

Step 3:  Realize, my hands are too big...I must shake this cup to get my jeep out.

Step 4:  Yes, mission accomplished, but now my yogurt has completely spilled.  Oh well, I like this yogurt covered jeep better :)

Final step:  Forget about eating the pile of yogurt on the table, just drive the jeep!

Now I just want you to know that I caught him doing this about halfway through and I could have stopped him, but I decided to let him enjoy and figure it out on his own all while his big brother was cracking up, thinking it was the funniest thing on earth.
These moments that sometimes make a mom want to pull her hair out, are the moments that will pass you by in a blink.  I have learned to take a breath and truly relish in the exact moment with my boys.

A new Season is upon us!

My favorite time of the year is approaching.  I love everything about fall.  I love the colors, the weather, the foods, the flowers, and the scents.  This weekend it was in the 80's-90's so we spent a lot of time outside and I just couldn't resist to start my fall decorating.  I hung the wreath on the front door.  Me and the boys have been collecting pine cones on our morning walks that we will use to decorate the kitchen.
I am so excited to go pick out the perfect pumpkins with the boys. Cason and I have been discussing what he wants to be for Halloween (Stay tuned).

Coasters from Cason

As you know Cason started pre school a few weeks ago.  He and I worked on a little something for him to give his teacher's to show our appreciation.
I had some extra fabric so we decided on "Coasters from Cason."  These are just fabric coasters and I cut up some thick burp cloths to use as the filling to ensure they would be super absorbent.
Cason sure was excited to give them to Ms.Patricia and Ms. Carolyn.

Of course these cute coasters were not my idea, I found this simple tutorial from Larissa.  I visit her blog frequently! Which brings me to my next point.  I am making some additions to my blog this fall.  I am now going to have a section titled "C.I.I.S" which stands for Creative Ideas I Stole.  I will be sharing with you some D.I.Y projects that I find and fall in love with.  I love doing projects but was not blessed with much creativity.  There are so many talented ladies out there and I will always post the source when demonstrating a project.
