Rainy Day Fun ~

We had a very rainy day yesterday and I knew the boys would love to get out if it involved getting dirty....especially Pookie...I believe his top 3 most beloved things in life might go as follows:
1.  Mommy & Daddy
2.  Bubba
3.  Dirt
Happy Friday everyone ~

Going public again ~

Just a little heads up, the blog is now public again, I had to do this because of the changes that are in the works with my photography.
And because I just can't bring myself to post without a picture, here is my "not so baby" anymore in his crib which he no longer sleeps in~ that's right the McDaniel household is without a crib now for the first time in 4 years! Tear!

Our Monday in pictures~

Jake and Cubby ~ According to Cason I no longer have two sons but I now have two pirates.  Cason has a bigger imagination than any kid I have ever seen, he is always pretending to be someone or something except to him it is so real.  Lately, he has insisted that he is Jake the pirate and Parker is Cubby.  Some days he will wake up and inform me that he is Jerry the Fireman.  When we are driving he will scream "FIRE" and tell me to turn on the sirens...it's constant entertainment and I hope he never changes!

PLAY DOUGH COOKIES~

I saw this over at Shauna's blog and new the boys would enjoy this since we have been big on play doh lately! So I pulled up the recipe on my ipad and we got busy in the kitchen. Warning to parents:  these aren't the tastiest treats you will eat! I was not too fond of them but the boys didn't complain.

Parker is pointing out to you that his brother messed up the red dough by adding some green coloring at the last minute.

See, Parker is showing you how yummy they are ~

Usually, this is how the cycle goes...boys start off playing together and loving it, laughing and really enjoying each other then...

It starts to get a little rowdy....

and ultimately someone thinks it has gotten too rowdy and bows out.

Friday post~

Here is my Friday post ~ Cason & Parker wanted to tell you to get outside and EnJoY the weather this weekend.  We plan on eating our meals on the back patio, drawing on our driveway with sidewalk chalk, riding our new bikes, playing in the sand, going on late night walks, and who knows what else!
Happy Friday!

"we just got a letter"

The boys had the best Valentine's Day they have ever had ~ they received so many packages in the mail and LOVED opening each one! To Memaw, Gma June, Aunt Vic, Casey & Kat~ you just don't know how much the boys loved hearing from you and opening your mail....thanks so much for thinking of them, we love and miss you!
I know Cason's face in the picture doesn't quite represent what I said above, but the reason he looks "not so enthused" is because I made him wait to open the package until I took his picture!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am one lucky girl on a holiday like this~ I have 3 amazing boys in my life who spoil me and love me dearly!  I was hoping to have a photo of the hubby and I for this post but when I came across this one of Cason, I couldn't help but think it was perfect for Valentine's Day.  Hope you have a day filled with lots of love! I am just so grateful for what I have been given.

Toys EVERYWHERE!

So you know we have been snowed in now for pretty much two weeks with a day or two break.
These boys are at their wits end as is their mommy~ I gave up the battle of keeping the house clean and here is why...
I love that fact that Cason decided it was so bad he should wear his safety goggles.

I don't think my boys have enough toy cars and trucks, do you? GEEZ, we are going to do a big spring cleaning of this toy room and fill up donation bags!

Sneak Peek~

I am so excited! Here's a sneak peek at what's to come very soon~ I have to say a HUGE thanks to my great friend Jessica for working on this for me! She is an absolute amazing designer and I will be posting more about her to come!

Growing Pains

I know you've heard of the term "growing pains."  Well, let me tell you that growing pains are real and it's very heartbreaking to see your baby experience them.
It started a few months ago and I had no idea what was going on until we talked to his doctor and to my mother-in-law.  Parker would all of the sudden start crying and he would try to stand up but couldn't, he would hold his knees and cry this horrific cry like he was in so much pain.
Sometimes the spells would only last about 10-20 minutes but lately he has had spells that last all night long.
When it hits, we rush him to the warm bath where we massage his legs and give him Motrin but the most discouraging feeling as his mommy is that nothing we do can actually make the pain stop.
He has set records for growing so much in a short period of time ~ if any of you moms have any secrets to help please pass them along to me.
Poor Parker ~ he is taking after his daddy in so many ways (I just hope he doesn't have a mustache by 6th grade). HA!

Eating too much!

Looks like we aren't the only ones eating out of boredom from being stuck in the house...

Blizzard 2011

Hi Folks,
We are making history right now in Oklahoma ~ this blizzard is setting records.  We have been "snowed" in our house for 4 days now and yes, we are going a little crazy.  Keeping a 3 yr. old and 20 month old entertained inside the house for this long might go down as the biggest challenge of my life.
Day 1, I was thinking how wonderful this is....snowed in with my family (some quality time together)...Day 2, the boys were getting restless and we were pulling out all creative skills to come up with stuff to do...Day 3, okay this isn't so fun anymore, let's try to get out of the house (never mind, got stuck in the neighborhood)....Day 4, going stir crazy, my boys were out of milk and everyone was getting grumpy so we attempt to get out again and succeeded.  Aaron and I were able to go to work for a few hours today before it started snowing again!
I don't want to sound negative ~ so to be honest the time together means the world to me and I am so grateful that we were safe and able to stay warm, but we just weren't quite prepared for this blizzard.
I have been so proud of Cason ~ he has been a happy camper the whole time!
It was hard to get good pictures of the boys because they didn't like it outside at all so as you will see Aaron let me take his pictures! Thanks honey!
