Parker Scott is 15 months old!

Oh Pumpkin Pie, what would we do without you!  You are more than a joy to be around and are quickly becoming a true toddler boy!  Now that you are 15 months old, you and your brother are getting along so much better and can actually "play" together.  At your check-up you weighed in at 28 lbs which is in the 75% so you are finally slimming down ( I miss my chubby baby).  However you are still off the charts in height measuring 34 " tall.

As your personality develops we have quickly realized you are a pretty funny little guy.  You love to make others laugh and will do anything to accomplish this.  For example, last night while I was doing laundry I look up to see that you have a pair of your brother's undies on your head and you were just waiting for someone to notice so you could get a good laugh in.

You don't say many words right now but you understand everything we are saying.  You do however say a few words ALL the time, "that, banana, hot, & uh oh" You just recently started pointing your finger at the dogs and telling them "NoNo" when they beg for food in the kitchen and I think it's the cutest thing ever.

You are more than spoiled when it comes to getting your way and as we have had to start telling you no to things, you are NOT a happy camper!

You are still Cason's shadow and honestly I don't know if that will ever change, you are right behind him doing whatever he is doing.

You are one of the most loving little boys, you offer kisses and hugs to everyone at anytime.

You do have a sweet tooth which we are battling ~ I guess you would be considered a picky eater but a few of your favorites are green beans, watermelon, and turkey (especially gigi's smoked turkey)

Mommy, daddy and Cason (in his own way) love you more than words Pookie, thanks for always making us smile!

My day with Pookie

Since Cason went to school yesterday, I had a few hours just me and Parker.  I love spending time alone with each of my boys.  Parker absolutely loves it when he gets a break from his big brother.  As Parker's personality is really showing we have learned that he is actually a very funny little boy (a true comedian).  He likes to do the silliest things to make people laugh.  I tried to take advantage of my time with only one of the boys and do some laundry and as you can see I had a helper, who was happy to get in the hamper and make sure all the dirty clothes were out!

"Pre-school"

I just can't believe I am actually writing a post titled "pre-school."  My little man, Cason, started pre-school yesterday and I was an emotional wreck.  I am one of those moms who sobbed all day because I missed him so much and was worrying about him, but of course he LOVED it and had a great day!  If you think I am crazy and have another thing coming when he actually starts kindergarten then you will love this, he is only going 2 days a week for a few hours. HA, I know I am just being honest and letting you know this was so much harder for me than it was for him.

Aaron actually took him to school and he hugged and kissed his daddy good bye with no tears.  When I picked him up his teachers said how wonderful, smart, and sweet he his.  He is also the only one in his class that is fully potty trained (not even a pull up during nap time).  Words can't describe how proud I am of him!  When I was talking to him about school, I told him I was going to miss him, he put his arm around me and reassured me, quote "is okay mommy."  So sweet, but pathetic on my part I know.  I just have to remind myself to enjoy this time because before I know it he will be driving himself to high school.
Oh my gosh, I just can't stop laughing at this photo because while I was taking a million pictures of Cason, Parker kept trying to get me to take some of him.  Finally, he just forced himself in front of the camera and Cason was like, "hey I am the one going to school."  Look at Cason's face~ hilarious!
His first piece of art made at school, I am one proud momma!!

Rainy Day!

We finally got some rain at the beginning of the week!  I guess Cason could sense it was coming because I let him dress himself that morning (this is a whole other story) and he picked out his rain boots with his shorts.  He also wanted to dress his little brother so of course he should wear his rain boots too.
Oh and yes I know my little 14 month old is drinking from a bottle (we are working on that) but oh how he loves it, I am not concerned in the least :)

My 29th Birthday!

Well, as you saw earlier I am now 29, and loving it!  I am just so blessed it's hard to find anything to complain about.  I had a perfect birthday this year thanks to my friends, family, & of course my 3 prince charmings!
I wanted Sushi for my birthday dinner so we decided to take Cason along knowing he would love the hibachi grill....he was amazed and truly enjoyed the chopsticks (of course using them as laser guns).
Parker stayed with Gigi that night and we sure missed him!

Thanks to my sweet husband who sent me these gorgeous roses to my office ~ it really does stink to work on your birthday so this cheered me up!
This weekend was full of fun dinners, we spent the evening with great friends on Friday night.  The restaurant sits near a pond so the kids were able to feed the ducks.  The funny thing is when we were getting seated the hostess asked how many and I replied "7 chairs and 4 highchairs."  This sounded like a disaster waiting to happen and about mid-way through the meal, Parker dipped his hands in a bowl of sauce right after Cason spilled his drink then Jon said it best, "I think next time we should order take out and go to someone's house" HA! Honestly, my two were the worst, they just don't last long sitting at the table, so we don't eat out much right now.
Even so, we enjoyed our night with the Hoffman clan and the Vandrells. I was able to snap some great shots of the boys with Haley, Cale and Zoey.

29, Really??

Well, today I turn 29 (Cason wanted to help take this pic of me on my birthday, such a sweetie).  Aaron has started the countdown he says, "365 days until you turn 30."  Little does he know that I am truly happy to be a year older.  I am not the person I was 10 years ago, as a matter of fact, I am not the person I was last year at this time.  I am a much more thankful, joyful person.   Over the past year I have become extremely close to God, as a matter of fact, I am so in awe that I ever even tried to live a life without Him.  Even during those times I was selfish He continued to bless me.  I think the "wake up call" for me was with the births of my two boys! God definitely got my attention through lots of health issues and scares and I know He wanted me to realize that if He was going to place these two precious, perfect little boys in my care then I better start                                                       following Him again!

It only took me 29 years to learn some valuable life lessons such as these:
  • Truly love others, be kind, never judge, you don't know their circumstances.
  • Grudges are no good, just bogs you down.
  • Prayer is powerful when it comes from deep down.
  • Time for yourself is so important, even if it's only 10 min a day!
  • Faith doesn't get you around bad times, it gets you through the bad times.
  • Be thankful for everyday you are living, it really does go by quickly!

So to start my birthday I decided to get a birthday cake doughnut along with my daily Starbucks iced coffee! Yes, it's actually called "birthday cake doughnut" and it was worth every calorie!

I just had to share these gorgeous flowers I have sitting on my desk at work, what a wonderful surprise from my sweet mother-in-law.

Stay tuned for more birthday posts coming soon!
